Directions for use:
Feed 8g-10g per 100kg of body weight per day. As a short term 5 day programme
(recommended for horses grazing on short grass, sandy soil) feed 2g per 100kg of body
weight per day for 5 consecutive days, every 2 months. A 25ml level scoop gives approximately 13g.
There is a multilevel (5ml-25ml) scoop included in this product for your convenience.

Precautions:
For animal use only. Introduce to the horse’s diet gradually, splitting total daily serving
between AM and PM feeds (when applicable). Serve dependent on the individual animal but
as a guide. Store indoors or under cover in a frost-free, cool dry place out of direct sunlight.

What are the benefits of psyllium husk for horses?
Psyllium is a dietary supplement traditionally used to support a healthy digestive system. Primarily, this is because it acts as a mild laxative, absorbing water in the gut, softening stools and making bowel movements easier. For hoses, psyllium is particularly useful due to the amount of sand or debris that can be consumed at pasture, as the supplement effectively ‘flushes’ this out of the system.

Psyllium husk is also a probiotic and helps maintain a healthy gut. This has secondary benefits on the immune system as a whole.

What horses may need psyllium added to their diets?
Any horse that appears to be experiencing constipation or digestive discomfort could benefit from the stool-softening effects of psyllium. It is especially useful for horses prone to ingesting large amounts of sand.

How do I feed my horse psyllium husk?
Our psyllium husk supplement can easily be added to your horse’s daily feed. It can be used both when there are digestive problems present and also for maintenance of a healthy digestive system.

How much psyllium husk should I feed my horse?
Amounts will vary depending on the size of your horse and their dietary needs. As a general guide, 8 to 10 grams for every 100 kilograms of body weight is recommended.

Is Psyllium Husk safe for horses?
As long as the recommended dosage guidelines are followed, there are no known negative side effects of psyllium husk for horses. It’s also safe to feed to pregnant or lactating mares.
